Privacy Policy
Vault AI ("we", "us", "Vault") is a private AI assistant. This page explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control of it. If anything here is unclear, email us — see the bottom of this page.
01What we collect
We collect only what's needed to run your account and make Vault AI work:
- Account info — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo.
- Vault data — files, notes, and text you choose to upload into your personal vault.
- Chat messages — the questions you send to the AI, so we can generate a response and show your chat history back to you.
- Usage data — which AI models you use, your credit/streak balance, and basic activity timestamps, so plan limits and the streak system work correctly.
- Connector data (only if you turn a connector on) — if you choose to connect a third-party service, we access only what's needed for the feature you enabled, and never more.
02How we use it
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send your questions to the AI model you selected and return the answer.
- To enforce plan limits, credits, and the daily streak system fairly.
- To improve reliability — e.g. diagnosing errors when something breaks.
- To communicate important account or billing information to you.
We do not use your personal vault data to train AI models — yours or anyone else's.
03Google Sign-In
When you choose "Continue with Google," we request only your name, email address, and profile photo — the same basic information any "Sign in with Google" button asks for. We never request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google data through this login, and we never post anything to your Google account.
This information is used solely to create and identify your Vault AI account. You can revoke Vault AI's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
04AI models & your messages
Vault AI routes your chat messages through third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and others) to generate responses. Your message text is sent to the selected provider for the sole purpose of generating a reply, and is subject to that provider's own data-handling terms while in transit.
We do not sell your chat content, and we do not allow AI providers to use your Vault AI conversations to train their models.
05Storage & security
Account data and usage records are stored in an encrypted, access-controlled database. Passwords are never stored in plain text. API keys that power the AI models live only on our servers — never inside the app you use — so they can't be extracted or stolen from your device.
No system is 100% breach-proof, but we apply industry-standard practices (encryption in transit, restricted server-side access, no client-side secrets) to keep your data safe.
07Your rights & choices
- Access — you can view your account details and vault contents anytime inside the app.
- Delete — request full account and data deletion by emailing us; we'll confirm once it's done.
- Export — request a copy of your stored data.
- Disconnect — turn off any connector or revoke Google access at any time.
08Children's privacy
Vault AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
09Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
